Buddha Relic Temple is a small monastery situated in just below the Shanti Stupa on a steep hill. This monastery originally belongs to the retreat cafe of Jigtenpa Meme-ley, where he spent many years under deep meditation. After the monk passed away, a local sponsor or owner of the retreat cafe offered it to Geshe Tsewang Dorje.
In 2010 Geshe-la renovated the temple and built some monkts quarters and also built an extension, which now allows over 50 people can gather in main temple. Monks and students from Ngari Institute gather there occasionally during ceremonies.
Under the help of Thekchen Choling Centre-Singapore and Lama Namdorll Dorjee Support, Geshe-la was offered by Buddha Relic, which tours every part of Ladakh. Over 5,000 people gathered during the Buddha Relic tour and given the name as Buddha Relic Temple.
